I've noticed a lot of you are posting nearly on every thread, especially the "introductions" threads. While I'm not trying to be mean, please understand that it is considered "spamming" when clearly your name is all over the page. I'll let this one slide. However, if it continues, I will be forced to start temporarily bans.

Another thing, please make threads where they are suitable in, i.e. don't put a Hikki Question thread in the General Discussion sub forum.

Please stay on topic. If you have to ask or say something that is not related at all to the topic, please do it by private messaging other people.

I hope you guys understand and enjoy your stay here.

Regards, Sanosuke Very Happy

So you would say that seeing one's name all over one page is not spam?

In forum terms, "spam" is considered as posting messages continuously that are unnecessary.

For instance, while it is nice to greet everybody, saying "hi" to each and every one of them is very unnecessary.

As always, please understand.

Look at this:

http://hikkistation.forumakers.com/introduce-yourself-f5/

Look at those who made the "last posts."

You don't the names repeated all over the place?

Like I said, you can greet people, but it becomes a problem when you have a necessity to make unnecessary posts on every thread.

Well,

The forums just started. As many other forums, is normal see only a few names. I can put here 10 names that always are at the topics.

Of course, we have topics that are no need to reply, in some subjects that don't matter to us.

But, for example, the topic of Site | Forum Related :: Introduce Yourself was to Feel free to introduce yourself to other members. So, it's normal to reply and gave "hello" to anyone you want, don't?

But, topics that have discussions of a determinate subject, like music, might be answered with a cool answer, if u want or not.

Just an opinion. Anyway, good forum cheers

I hope you can understand. It's very "unprofessional" to post in almost every thread.

I've been there and done it. I'm just doing what's best for the forums as a whole.

To clear up with my own opinion, that's part of the reason why I didn't much come back to UtadaNet; I think that a moderation of "stuff" would be nice. In the "introductions" board, I think asking questions would be nicer than saying "hi".

I've noticed that I'm very much spreading my name all across here as much as the next guy, but I think that I'm doing a good job at making things thought provoking. Try and add to the conversation, I think, rather than posting and re-posting over and over again just things like, "I agree"

dot dot dot

It doesn't say much.

Mmm.. Sanosuke is a friend of mine. I'm not leaning towards his side just because he's "the boss" or anything. I just think he's doing a nice job at trying to keep everything calm and composed. I don't think he'll limit us just because we're posting a lot. I think he'll limit us if we post a lot of crap.

Don't be too hard on him Hikkifan, although I do see where you're coming from.

yeap..i agree.."sano i have a question..do we really need ranks in forum?i realize that the more we post, the higher the rank..but it is like giving us the desire to spam just to get higher ranks"this is from my friend<<

Sano, what do u think about this?

Srr sano for editing too much..i just wanna give a suggestion..

well u can give ranks, but it is better to give ranks accordingly to the user's activeness in the forum..

I think David's right..Or David's friend. Maybe you should take the ranks off the forum. It does seem fun and it looks cool but, as David's friend stated, it probably gives a lot of people the desire to spam to get a higher ranking. XDD Maybe that'd cool off the whole spamming problem that's going on. Don't you think?

I definitely agree. If this is a thing that comes with the forum, I totally won't mind it, but I think people post so much is to get out of the n00b circle. If it's something you can control, I do think it would be best to get rid of this.

Hmm, I think that it's fine since I check if there's any spam everyday.

There's nothing wrong with posting a lot as long as it's contributing to the topic in some way.

I don't think it'll be an issue for now....

Plus, ranks are there so that people will recognize who are the members that contribute a lot to the forums. Higher rank= higher respect I suppose.

Mods, what do you have to say on this?

Hmm... I agree with madkool. That makes a lot more sense to take the post counts than to take the ranking.

Yes, but when lower posting people get the same rank as higher posting people, the rankings wouldn't be so effective.

I think what madkool meant was that the posts shouldn't be visible so people won't go all crazy and be like "I need ___ amount of post to get ___ amount of stars." Right?

Well, I don't see it being such an issue.

Someone spams a lot => ban. Easy as that.
