| Who else loves this amazing song??? I especially like the part where she says "I'm throwing my heart." Incidentally, does anyone have an English translation of the song? | |

| i do! I also Love this song and it sooth into my BONES! gosh... the lyrics are so ME.. (^_^)
this is the translation:
My saucy glance is always a bad first impression. Never mind. The best way to defense yourself Begins with offense.
The beat of the festival is making me wild, It's pouring a bit of heat into a chilly night The trendy music in the back is getting me up I guess it's a time for the ball game
Let me ask you a question Breaking a brief moment of silence Just like a pitcher in the bottom of ninth, I'm throwing my heart It's my own mission and I will play this game 'till the end I won't tell my feelings to just anyone I'm throwing my heart at you
It's August; with it's flavour Of the end of summer Please don't give up, and hang in there Even if you fail it, you did your best It's okay
Your face is coloured by the fireworks The lonely dark sky is smiling at us and the twinkling stars let us stay here longer Just two of us I guess that's what I was hoping
Let me wake the passion sleeping in your mind. Not to miss out that moment; like a runner. I'm stealing your heart It's my own mission I won't open up myself to just anyone Taking my glasses off I'm throwing my heart at you
The first impression was gracefully turned Like a hunter abandoning the weapon on his foot I'm showing my heart It's my own mission I won't show my fangs to just anyone So please tell me your answer. I'm throwing my heart at you
Let me ask you a question breaking a brief moment of silence Like a pitcher in the bottom of ninth, I'm throwing my heart It's my own mission and I will play this game 'till the end I won't tell my feelings to just anyone I'm throwing my heart at you

| I LOVE THIS SONG I LOVE THIS SONG I LOVE THIS SONG I LOVE THIS SONG I LOVE THIS SONG
Now that that's out of the way, I love this song. I love the overall atmosphere that the song creates and the lyrics are so cool. In fact, I like the song sooo much that I was inspired to write these lyrics based off of the song. They're not real but I just made them up as I was listening to the song.
Play Ball ~Take 2~
The sky that holds all my memories together falls apart With the loneliness and the emptiness alongside my happiness
What’s happening tonight, I’m waking up To see the moon over the water The songs string along the feelings That sleep inside my dormant heart
In the fleeting silence, I have one burning question Does the pitcher throw without considering I’m throwing my heart Even alone I’ve decided on this frightful mission It’s hard to put these feelings into words Nonetheless, I’ve chosen I’m throwing my heart at you
Laughing off these days that make you cry so easily It’s strange how we wish to forget small things like this
Today I’m realizing how real it was The lonely dream nestled inside my heart My imagination led to me to write love songs With vivid words that come alive
Secretly you’re carrying unbridled passion That keeps you moving forward like a determined runner I’m stealing your heart I’ve settled on a dangerous mission That I handle all alone without hesitation Although tomorrow looks to be ugly I’m throwing my heart
I have a tendency to make a bad first impression My determination has fizzled unlike a hunter I’m showing your heart Keeping to myself, here’s my secret mission I won’t show everybody my true self right away Does that make me deceiving? I’m throwing my heart at you

| you know, I give every Hikki song three listens before I judge whether I like it or not, and I'm sorry to say that I just don't think it's very good. I know that you all love it a lot, but I think that there are much better songs on the Deep River album. | |

| It's a fantastic track... but then again: DEEP RIVER probably contains her strongest set of songs. | |

| I enjoyed Deep River very much. It was that point in her career that she found herself and her style. Play Ball: I heard it, and I was just like, WHY ISN'T THIS SONG MORE POPULAR?? It's a great song! And I love how she explains it as just a fun song not to be taken literally. | |

| I do like the song, but at first I thought the song was acutally about playing ball Lol, It's not my favorite song, but if it comes on like if my playlist is set to random then I'd listen to it. | |

| Well the song is catchy. But it's one of my least favorites (Next to Amai Wana~Paint it Black, but that also is very catchy ) | |

| I really enjoy this song, too. It's not my favourite off of DEEP RIVER, or even ONE of my favourites - but I must say that I really enjoy it when it's on.
Maybe I'll have a listen in a while.

| Like everyone's already said, I think it's an enjoyable song, and the lyrics are awesomesauce, but it's not really one of my favorites. Compared with all of the other songs on Deep River, this was the worst. But that's just what I think. | |

| I love Play Ball, she wrote some creative lyrics for this one. I was dissapointed to see how so many people had it as their least favorite song on Deep River in the other topic. Play Ball is fantastic. | |

| Play Ball is one of my favorite songs of hers. It always gives me chills while listening to it. I'm also really surprised a lot of people didn't think much of it. | |

| Its actually more of a song you have to listen to more into enjoy it. First impressionists (Lots of people) usually don't give songs like that a chance. | |

| I think like 5 years ago, I read from my local teen magazine that in DEEP RIVER Hikki wrote a song in the spirit of the Japanese soccer team for World Cup 2002... and the writer mentioned it was Sakura Drops, but I doubt it. Given Play Ball's lyrics, it could have been this song. Hey it's just my guess | |
